 Perfect First Watch
I bought this watch for my son 4 years ago. It has been through a lot in that time and yet it's still in good shape. The watch face is the perfect size for boys ages 5 through 10, in our experience, and the band is adjustable so it can grow with your child. The lens is scratched a bit, but it isn't noticable until you look closely at it. Plus, the battery only now stopped working, which is surprising given the experiences of other reviewers on Amazon.

It is possible to replace the battery. There are four teeny tiny Phillips head screws on the back that you have to remove to get to it, though, so I recommend using a tiny magnetized screwdriver (you can also make it magnetized by holding a decent kitchen magnet against the metal shaft of the screwdriver) and one of those magnetic trays, or at least a large magnet to keep the screws handy so you don't lose them. My son's watch takes an SR626SW cell battery which I assume is still the case for newer watches.

This is a very good GIRL'S watch
For some reason the title says it's a boy's watch. It's actually a girl's watch. We bought this for our daughter when she started learning to tell time, and she loves it. It's been really durable and reliable. It's gotten knocked around, dropped, lost, found, dunked in tub and sink water, left out in the sun and rain, driven over with toy cars, you name it. And it still works, and she still loves it. Wears it all the time. It keeps good time, it's easy to read, and it's cute. For little girls learning to tell time who want a watch of their very own, this is a pretty good starter.

It's true when they say it takes a licking and keeps on ticking!
So we bought this watch over a year ago in March for our then 7 year old. She loved it but eventually misplaced it. It was lost for months. We even bought a new one for Christmas...it got lost too. Then a few days ago, the snow had melted enough (yes, snow doesn't melt until May in Fairbanks, Alaska) that she was able to get into her play area under the back deck. To everyone's surprise she found this watch! And it was STILL WORKING!!! It spent an entire 6 month winter stuck outside. Average temps for multiple months is under 0° F with some temps down to -40° F. And this little timex survived it!!!

My only negative with this watch is the way the band works. I wish it had a better way to contain the excess when it is tightened for a skinny wrist.

It's NOT the battery! Pull off the plastic loop!!
I assumed the battery was dead on arrival. Hands immobile, and several one-star reviews complained of same. BUT when I took it to a local jewelry store (yay bricks & mortar main streets!) the watch repairman pulled off a teensy piece of plastic that restrained the mechanism so the battery wouldn't wear out until activated. Luckily I hadn't followed through on the return. Wrist watch in working order and wrapped in time for party. Big hit with six-year-old birthday boy.

LONG LASTING & DURABLE
I got this watch about a year ago and it's still working at the right time. It's very durable, I'm a teen and I do a lot of hands on stuff, building, gardening, art projects, it's so easy to wash too.

It feels like nothing when I'm wearing, I will say if you have sensitive skin the fabric might rub too much and cause a rash.

I recommend this to anyone with small wrists.

The reason why I'm looking for a new one is cause I just lost this one ??

10/10 I do recommend!

Great little fun watch.
I ordered this watch to wear for a few days only because I had temporarily misplaced two watches that needed batteries. I am petite and have small wrists but was afraid this might be too tight as I am an adult. However, the band fits perfectly. It could be tightened for smaller wrists or loosened slightly. The stretch band is comfortable; doesn't pinch or anything. It is easy to read, with purple numbers on a white background. There is no light. I haven't tested to see if it is water resistant. It's fun to wear as a daily watch and keeps good time. I recommend it. Have fun!

Good for keeping track of time while gardening
Retired landscaper here. Over the years, I've periodically bought cheap children's watches to keep in my pocket while working. I have no idea what their longevity could have been; invariably I've lost them somewhere among the vegetation. Many times, I could find them but eventually my luck ran out and I needed a replacement.
Now that I'm retired, I wanted one for my own garden work. I am optimistic that it won't get permanently lost and will likely outlive me. We shall see. Everything is as was advertised. It's nice to look at analog clocks. And it is a Timex so all is well.

A great frist watch for kids
One of my kids wanted to learn how to tell time better, so I bought him this cost effective watch to wear around. He really digs it. It fits well and hasn't broken yet (he wears it to camp/school/etc, so it's definitely in danger of getting smacked on something while he's wearing it. He still loves it, and therefore I love it.

so glad I bought this
Before I bought this watch, I was always arguing with my daughter that it was bedtime & she would never believe me. (She's 3.) Same "discussion" for lunch, dinner, bathtime, etc. She does well with the time timer, where she can see the literal amount of time she has until the next activity, so I realized she might need something to make the concept of time more real to her. So, I had the bright idea to buy her a watch and help her understand that when the little hand points to 8, it's bedtime. Or 12 for lunchtime, etc. And, guess what...it worked! No more arguing for me. the elastic is stretchy & comfortable for her. She can wear it all day & all night if I let her. It's durable & and a wonderful price for a first watch that's sure to get lost eventually. The watch has a little green hand that says "hour" and a big purple hand that says "minutes". This, of course, is useless to her since she can't read. It also divides up the face in minutes 0-30 and 30-60 to help children understand "x minutes after" or "x minutes to." But, as I said, we're not there yet. Still, she loves her watch. And now her 2 year old brother wants his own too. It has made my life easier so I am happy to oblige.

Great kids' watch!
We've only had it a little over a week, but so far, my son loves it!

Great features:
- fully adjustable wrist band. Not just notches, but a pull-tight band that can fit even small children's wrists
- comfortable band-- fabric, not plastic like most kids' watches
- ANALOG! Love this feature! In a digital age, when they aren't even teaching how to read a real clock in school anymore, I was so happy to find an analog watch for my 6-year-old son. It even has each minute marked off, so he can see exactly what time it is
- Cute little lizards tick away the seconds
- child-resistant adjustment knob. Like most watches, you have to pull out the knob to set the time, then push it back in to lock it. We tried other kids' watches that just had push buttons to set the time (digital) and he was always accidentally changing the time when the buttons bumped against his wrist
- glow feature. When you hold in the knob, it illuminates the watch face in blue light, so he can check the time at night.

Only thing I can't comment on is how easy (or difficult) it might be to change the battery, as we haven't yet had to do that. Great kids' watch for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!
